LLM: Master in Laws

Course Details

Start at any time. There are no start dates and no classes to attend. The course is a home study programme that is delivered by CD and e-mail attachments.

This one year distance learning LLM programme available through our law school is purely a Law Research Programme and is open to students holding a law degree. There are no taught law modules (except where a student holds a degree that is not a law degree or where a student wants to under take specifically a Master in International Refugee Laws ).

If a student does not hold a degree in law (or equivalent level) but has a degree in another discipline then a compulsory taught law module will be included in the LLM programme. Depending on the degree held the content of the compulsory law module will encompass some or all of the 10 Units taught in Assessment 1.

Once enrolled, a student undertaking a LLM will receive a 60 page manual on writing a research based dissertation in line with the awarding university's dissertation requirements. The LLM programme will be completed by way of submitting a Dissertation, of not less than 20,000 words. The awarding university is a non UK institution, for details of the awarding body click here

This means students, in which ever country they may reside in, can take this one year LLM degree programme by distance learning.

Note: A student can take longer than 1 year to finish but cannot take less than 12 months.
